‘We’ll be mentally ready’ – Black Princesses gear up for South Africa second leg

Head coach of Ghana’s U20 Women’s National Team, Charles Sampson, says his players will be “mentally ready” for their crucial second-leg clash against South Africa.

The Black Princesses twice saw their lead slip away in the first leg of the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers at Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with Agnes Yeboah opening the scoring and Linda Owusu Ansah adding a second-half goal. The match ended 2-2, leaving Ghana with work to do in the away fixture.

“The players are mentally strong, and we will ensure they are psychologically prepared for the next game so we can get the result we are aiming for,” Sampson said.

He added: “We know it’s a two-legged tie—home and away—so we are focused on preparing the team to go to South Africa and move forward.”

Ghana must win on South African soil to progress to the final round of qualifiers, where they could face either Zambia or Uganda.
