#OccupyBoG: Minority invites Alan’s supporters to Tuesday’s demo

The Minority in Parliament has expressed its satisfaction with an Accra High Court's decision to dismiss an application by the police to halt Tuesday's planned demonstration known as #OccupyBoGDemo.

The Minority in Parliament has expressed its satisfaction with an Accra High Court’s decision to dismiss an application by the police to halt Tuesday’s planned demonstration known as #OccupyBoGDemo. The Court ruled that the police’s service processes were ineffective.

Minority Chief Whip Kwame Governs Agbodza welcomed the court’s decision, stating that the police’s attempt to stop the demonstration was unfounded and nearly acted in bad faith. He affirmed the caucus and its allied partners’ readiness to proceed with the demonstration on Tuesday.

Agbodza extended an invitation to all individuals disenchanted by what they perceive as maladministration under the Akufo-Addo-led government to participate in Tuesday’s demonstration. He specifically invited members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging former Trade Minister Alan Kwadwo John Kyerematen, who recently resigned from the NPP to form a new party, to join the protest.

He described the demonstration as open-ended, welcoming participation from individuals across the political spectrum to convey their dissatisfaction with the government and call for improved governance.

The #OccupyBoGDemo is expected to address various concerns related to the country’s economy and governance. The Minority, along with other groups and individuals, seeks to use the demonstration as a platform to voice their grievances and advocate for change in the government’s policies and practices.

The court’s decision to allow the demonstration paves the way for the protest to take place as scheduled on Tuesday, raising the possibility of widespread participation from citizens and political stakeholders alike.
