Nana Okobeng Amponsah, Chief Executive Officer of Okobeng Mining Company Limited, has had an award revoked by the Ghana Health Service.
At its Annual Performance Review in Takoradi on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the Western Regional Directorate of the Ghana Health Service presented the miner with the award for his humanitarian endeavor towards better healthcare service in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region.

Okyere, Kwabena Western Region Minister Darko Mensah presented the award to Nana Okobeng Amponsah.
The prize, however, has been revoked, according to a press release acquired by the media.

Okobeng’s methods, according to Dr. Yaw Ofori Yeboah, Western Regional Director of Health, violate Ghana Health Service rules.
“After numerous complaints and evidence received by the Service on the operations of Okobeng Mining Company Limited, the award has been revoked”, according to the notice.
