The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has notified the general public that gas supply for electricity production has been disrupted due to maintenance work being performed at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC). (GPP).
According to the ECG, some power plants will be affected for the next two weeks, resulting in nationwide power outages.
The Energy Ministry promised in a statement that measures are being taken to procure additional gas from Nigeria to deal with the impending negative effects.
The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) stated in a separate statement that there will only be a slight interruption in power supply to some ECG customers.According to the statement, ECG will issue an outage schedule by Friday, March 31st, in order to notify customers.
