SaveGhanaFootball Demonstration
Join us today, February 14, 2024, in Accra, as we come together for the SaveGhanaFootball demonstration. Led by sports journalist Saddick Obama and other dedicated individuals, this peaceful walk aims to advocate for much-needed improvements in Ghana’s football sector.
As we march on Valentine’s Day, let us symbolize our collective love for the game and our shared desire to see it thrive once again in our country.
Our message is clear: we demand increased investment in Ghanaian football and a shift away from narrow interests. We cannot ignore the disparities, such as the reported $100,000 payment to Black Stars management committee members compared to the mere $30,000 awarded to the champion of the Ghana Premier League.
We are making our voices heard at key locations, including the Jubilee House and the Sports Ministry, to present our petition directly to the authorities responsible for football in Ghana.
Among our demands, we urge President Nana Akufo-Addo to reconsider the establishment of a committee to replace Chris Hughton as the Black Stars coach. We believe that coaching is not our primary concern; rather, we must address the fundamental issues plaguing the sport.
Rest assured, security is tight during the demonstration, with a significant presence of police officers ensuring a smooth and peaceful event.
Stand with us today and be a part of the movement to SaveGhanaFootball. Together, we can make a difference.
