Concerned NDC Supporter Petitions Council of Elders Over Dr. Omane Boamah’s Appointment

A concerned supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has submitted a petition to the Council of Elders of the party, requesting a review of the recent appointment of Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah as the Director of Elections and IT.

The petitioner, Delanyo Agbe, expressed his reservations about Dr. Omane Boamah’s qualifications and expertise in election management and information technology.

In his petition, Mr. Agbe raised concerns about Dr. Omane Boamah’s background in medicine, which, in his view, does not align with the technicalities involved in information and communication technology (ICT) and electoral processes.

He acknowledged Dr. Omane Boamah’s contributions but emphasized the importance of placing individuals with the right skills and competencies in key party roles.

Mr. Agbe called for an open dialogue regarding these concerns and stressed the need for the party to adapt, evolve, and address its shortcomings effectively.

In response to allegations that he served as a board member of Afrah International Hospital, Dr. Omane Boamah clarified that he had never held such a position.

He further stated that he was not a partner or shareholder of the hospital and had only practiced medicine part-time there.

Dr. Omane Boamah urged everyone to refrain from impugning the professional integrity of medical practitioners and their practices, emphasizing the need for unity in the face of common challenges, including health concerns.
