A seven-member jury has been formed to hear all evidence in the trial of Police Officer Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who is accused of killing his lover, Victoria Dapaah, popularly known as Maa Adwoa, at Adum.
During his second appearance in Kumasi’s high court, the accused stated that he is not guilty.
As a result, the court directed the state attorneys in charge of the case to file witness statements before the case management conference could begin.

In order to expedite the trial, the presiding judge, her ladyship Rosemary Baah Tosu, has stated that she will be sitting as a vacation judge and that the case will be heard even during the legal vacation.
As a result, the case has been postponed until August 28, 2023.
In an interview with the media, family members of the dead who witnessed court procedures voiced optimism in the judicial process for justice to be served on the subject.

“With the proceedings at court today, we know everything will be fine,” said Nana Addo Barima, family head of the deceased’s family. So we advise all Ghanaians to be patient since most people believe the case would go nowhere, but we have faith in the way things happened today. What’s troubling is that the accused, dubbed the “beast,” is defending himself as innocent, but you have killed someone.”
“We are hopeful that the case will be heard quickly so that a decision can be rendered.” But, for the time being, the lawyers and judges have all agreed to postpone the case until August 28th, and we believe that justice will be done,” he said.
