MTN Ghana has announced that the Data Zone package will be available to consumers again on Friday, May 5, 2023.
The statement comes on the heels of the suspension of the data package bundle, which went into effect on April 5, 2023.
A segment of its subscribers were outraged by the suspension.
MTN Ghana will soon reinstate the package with amended costs, according to the National Communications Authority (NCA).
According to the NCA’s chief executive officer, Joseph Anokye, the service was set to be restored after MTN Ghana submitted a revised data zone bundle that met their regulatory requirements.
To that end, MTN Ghana informed its customers through SMS on Wednesday, May 3 of the return of the revolutionary data bundle with amended rates.
“Dear Valued Customer, kindly be informed that effective May 5th, 2023, Data Zone bundles will be available to you with revised offers,” the message read.

MTN Ghana’s Data Zone bundle is a package that provides users with a 1-day validity bundle at a discounted rate at the moment of purchase.
Scancom PLC, MTN Ghana’s operator, announced the suspension of the Data Zone bundle on Wednesday, April 12.
However, it apologized to its “cherished customers” for “limiting our communications on this matter to service activation channels only.”
