President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, marking a new chapter in the country’s diplomatic engagement with Europe.

In her new role, Ambassador Baffoe is expected to deepen bilateral ties between Ghana and Spain while promoting trade, investment, and cooperation in key sectors.
With a distinguished career spanning nearly 40 years, Baffoe is widely known for her contributions to Ghana’s creative arts industry. She first gained national and international recognition in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a model, notably representing Ghana at the Miss Model of the World pageant in 1990, where she was crowned Miss Model of Africa.
She later transitioned into acting, beginning with stage productions before moving into film. Over the years, she has featured in numerous movies, including Out of Sight, Babina, Trinity, and Sala, building a reputation as one of Ghana’s respected screen figures. Her role in Sala earned her a major accolade at the Golden Movie Awards.
Beyond her work in entertainment, Baffoe has been actively involved in advocacy, particularly in the areas of women’s empowerment, youth development, and education. Her appointment reflects a blend of cultural influence and public service experience as she takes on her diplomatic responsibilities.
Her new position is expected to strengthen Ghana’s international presence while leveraging her profile to enhance cultural and economic relations with Spain.
