Several large groups and others urges President Mahama to declare state of emergency in the galamsey prone areas to ensure the fight against galamsey is intensified. The country is currently suffering from water shortages and in danger of the side effects of the gold galamsey on the local communities. Several forests have already been devastated, with acres of land already in very depriving situations.
