Former President John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), visited Obomenghene Nana Effah Opinamang III, along with his queen mothers and elders, as part of his Easter celebrations in the Kwahu area.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him during his visit, Mr. Mahama emphasized the significant role of chiefs in national development. He noted that chiefs serve as custodians of tradition, culture, and values, and play a crucial role in promoting social cohesion and unity within their communities.
Acknowledging the vital function of chiefs as intermediaries between the government and the people, Mr. Mahama underscored their advocacy for the needs and interests of their communities, contributing to the nation’s development.
He highlighted the importance of collaboration and partnership with traditional leaders like Nana Effah Opinamang III in building a stronger and more prosperous Ghana. Mr. Mahama expressed his anticipation for continued cooperation in their shared goal of nation-building.
