The National Communications Authority (NCA) has acknowledged an undersea cable disruption that has affected mobile and fixed data networks nationwide.
The disruption occurred in the early hours of Thursday, March 14, leading to a significant degradation of data services across the country.
According to the NCA, the disruptions have occurred in Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire, with some disruptions also reported in Portugal. These undersea cables are responsible for carrying international traffic, and their disruption has impacted data services in Ghana.
In response to the situation, mobile network operators (MNOs) are working diligently to restore full services. They have also informed affected customers of the disruptions through various communication channels.
The NCA is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates to the public as necessary.
