Awilo Sharp Sharp and Charles Awurum pay tribute to Mr. Ibu

Nollywood actors Charles Awurum and Victor Osuagwu, popularly known as Awilo Sharp Sharp, have paid a heartfelt tribute to their late colleague, actor John Okafor, famously known as Mr. Ibu.

The duo, currently in Ghana for the filming of a movie titled “A Country Called Ghana” by Ghanaian actor LilWin, shared their emotions and fond memories of Mr. Ibu’s humor and talent in acting.

Taking to social media, Victor and Charles recounted the profound impact of Mr. Ibu’s passing and reminisced about the joy and laughter he brought through his performances. They praised his talent and called on the public to support his grieving family during this difficult time.

Victor Osuagwu expressed sorrow over the loss, emphasizing Mr. Ibu’s role in bringing laughter and happiness to countless homes through his work. He highlighted Mr. Ibu’s ability to heal and uplift people through his comedy, acknowledging his significant contribution to the entertainment industry.

Similarly, Charles Awurum fondly remembered Mr. Ibu as a great man, a brother, and someone from whom he learned a lot. He emphasized the need for continued support for Mr. Ibu’s family, urging people to extend their assistance even after his passing.

The news of Mr. Ibu’s demise on Saturday, March 2, following a cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at the Evercare hospital in Lagos, has left the entertainment world mourning. Mr. Ibu had been battling health issues since October 2023, undergoing multiple surgeries, including the amputation of his leg. Despite his health challenges, he continued to entertain audiences with his unique style and charisma.

In October 2023, Mr. Ibu publicly appealed for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses, garnering support and prayers from fans and colleagues alike. His passing marks the end of an era in Nollywood, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and joy that will be cherished by many.
