We are in a quagmire as a country; who cares about campaign team? – Ablakwa

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has expressed his lack of focus on campaign teams ahead of the 2024 general elections. According to him, what truly matters to Ghanaians are the manifesto documents that outline how economic challenges will be addressed.

In an interview with TV3’s Keminni Amanor on Hot Issues, Ablakwa emphasized that campaign teams are not the primary concern for the Ghanaian electorate. Instead, he stressed the importance of understanding the vision for the country as outlined in the manifesto.

When asked about the potential winning campaign team for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ablakwa reiterated his stance, stating, “I am not big on campaign teams.” He emphasized that the current focus should be on addressing the economic challenges facing the nation.

Ablakwa also criticized the Akufo-Addo government, accusing it of engaging in what he described as a “looting spree.” Referring to the Auditor-General’s report, he highlighted that 87% of road contracts were awarded through sole sourcing, which he argued amounted to looting of state resources.

He called for a national commission of inquiry to investigate these alleged instances of corruption, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in governance.
