Jirapa Member of Parliament (MP), Cletus Dapilah, has taken a bold step in the pursuit of justice by offering a GH¢100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators responsible for the tragic murder of Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel (Jirapa Dubai) in the Upper West Region.
The lifeless body of Eric Johnson, a highly regarded businessman, was discovered in his room on the hotel premises on Sunday, February 11, surrounded by a pool of blood. In response to this heinous crime, the police have apprehended seven individuals thus far.
Mr. Dapilah underscored the profound impact of Eric Johnson’s contributions to the Upper West region, highlighting his dedication to enhancing tourism and economic growth in the area. Johnson’s vision was to attract more visitors to the region, thereby stimulating job creation and bolstering revenue generation.
“The kind of investments that he made in Jirapa were to create jobs for the people, which he actually did. He was able to create over 300 direct jobs for people he pays every month, and his aim was to also open up the Upper West region to the world because most people often complained that the place is far,” expressed Mr. Dapilah in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM.

He emphasized the collective responsibility to ensure justice for Eric Johnson and to apprehend those responsible for his untimely demise. In light of this, Mr. Dapilah announced the substantial bounty as a gesture to incentivize individuals to come forward with credible information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that five out of the seven suspects arrested in connection with the murder have been granted bail as of Thursday, February 15.
