
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education, has announced that students at Wesley Girls Senior High School, under the free SHS policy, will soon receive a new tablet each to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
The minister revealed that the government plans to distribute over 1.4 million tablets to students benefiting from the free SHS policy. He made this known during his speech at the speech and prize-giving day of Wesley Girls’ Senior High School, stating that the distribution is expected to commence within the next two months.
“I am pleased to inform you that within the next two months, every student in this school will receive a tablet computer. We are establishing a learning management system, and all teachers will undergo training. This will enable you to complete homework and engage in class activities online,” Dr. Adutwum announced.
He further emphasized the government’s commitment to providing support for the integration of technology into the learning environment, mentioning plans to introduce smart boards to create a comprehensive, technology-driven educational setting.
Dr. Osei Adutwum highlighted that this initiative aims to enable students to participate in online assignments and class activities, emphasizing the forthcoming implementation of a learning management system and teacher training programs.
The distribution of tablets is expected to revolutionize the educational experience for senior high school students, fostering a more advanced and interactive learning environment.
