If you threaten me ever again like Ahmed Suale, I will get you arrested – Wontumi to Ken Agyapong

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has issued a stern warning to Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) and 2024 flagbearer aspirant, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, over his constant threats and confrontational rhetoric.

Chairman Wontumi expressed concern that Ken Agyapong’s threats and hostile language were escalating, and he urged the lawmaker to desist from making inflammatory remarks.

In a press conference held on Wednesday, October 4, Chairman Wontumi addressed the comments made by Ken Agyapong during an event in Kumasi after the Region’s edition of his ‘Showdown Walk’ on Saturday, September 30.

During that event, Ken Agyapong had cautioned Chairman Wontumi not to make any mistakes or launch attacks against former NPP member Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen. He warned that if such actions occurred, “he will see men in this country.”

Chairman Wontumi responded by advising Ken Agyapong to refrain from making threats and insults. He emphasized the need for respectful and constructive discourse within the party.

He also reminded Ken Agyapong of the importance of unity within the NPP as the party approaches its presidential primary. Chairman Wontumi urged Ken Agyapong to focus on outlining his vision and what he can contribute to the party rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.

Chairman Wontumi concluded by stating that if Ken Agyapong continued to issue threats, he would not hesitate to take legal action. He referenced past incidents involving threats and violence in the country, emphasizing the need for responsible and respectful political discourse.

The tensions between the two prominent NPP figures highlight the internal dynamics and power struggles within the party as it prepares for the 2024 presidential election.
