MP Francis Asenso-Boakye Responds to Allegations Made by Kennedy Agyapong

Asenso-Boakye, has issued a response to allegations made against him by New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama Constituency, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has issued a response to allegations made against him by New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

In his address to hundreds of supporters during a ‘Showdown Unity Walk’ on Saturday, September 16, Mr. Agyapong indirectly criticized the Bantama MP, though not mentioning his name, for allegedly campaigning for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye, who also serves as the Minister of Works and Housing, said in a statement on Sunday, September 17, that he reasonably assumed the comments were directed at him since he is the only minister of state from Bantama.

He strongly refuted the allegations, describing them as “a mischievous lie deliberately made with the sole intention to cause disaffection for me, sully my good standing within the Party and neutralize whatever leverage I have on the Delegates.”

The Bantama MP affirmed his support for Vice President Bawumia as the “extraordinary” candidate capable of leading the NPP to victory in the 2024 election.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye called for unity within the party and urged everyone to disregard the allegations and focus on building a strong and united front for the upcoming election.

The statement emphasized the NPP government’s commitment to improving the living standards of Ghanaians and winning their trust.
