The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed its approval of the public apology issued by Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
The legislator had faced criticism and calls for her seat to be declared vacant due to her prolonged absence from parliament.
Haruna Mohammed, Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, stated that her apology has been positively received and contributes to the party’s image.
“She has done something positive, and the party welcomes her apology,” Haruna Mohammed said.
Sarah Adwoa Safo released a video on Thursday, September 14, in which she apologized to the leadership of the NPP and her constituents for her extended absence from parliament.
While the constituency’s executives accepted her apology, they advised her to refrain from the seat if her apology was meant to prepare for her return to contest the seat in the 2024 elections.
