NPP Primaries: Bawumia has not honoured any invitation by colleague aspirants – Kwadwo Poku

Kwadwo Poku, a flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has revealed that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has not attended meetings or responded to invitations organized by other aspirants

. Poku’s comments come after Boakye Agyarko, another flagbearer aspirant, claimed that nine out of ten aspirants had been meeting to discuss policies and potential alliances ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries.

Kwadwo Poku stated that he does not fault Dr. Bawumia for not participating in these meetings, suggesting that the Vice President might have his own campaign strategy.

He also indicated that Dr. Bawumia might engage with other aspirants after the Super Delegates’ Conference, which is scheduled for August 26.

Poku denied allegations that these meetings aimed to exclude or isolate Dr. Bawumia from potential alliances or collaborations.

He emphasized that discussions among aspirants were focused on understanding each other’s messages and establishing relationships for possible support in the future.

Poku clarified that these discussions were not about opposing any candidate or establishment but rather understanding each other’s perspectives and considering potential outcomes of the primary process.

He highlighted the importance of building relationships within the party and preparing for various scenarios, including the possibility of a run-off between the top two contenders.
