Madam Caroline Ewusi, the Cape Coast South Chairperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized the significance of the Central Region in determining the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
She likened the region’s pivotal role in the NPP’s internal selection process to its historical importance in the national presidential elections.
In an interview ahead of the Super Delegates Congress, Madam Ewusi emphasized the need for unity within the party after the flagbearer selection process.
She urged all aspirants to maintain decorum in their campaigns and emphasized that party members should rally behind the chosen flagbearer.

She criticized the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, for what she perceived as a lack of development in the constituency during his tenure.
The chairperson noted that the NPP’s focus is on issue-based campaigning and urged aspirants to adhere to party procedures in their campaigns.
She warned that any aspirant who deviates from party procedures will face consequences.
Overall, Madam Ewusi’s statements reflect the NPP’s aspirations for a united front in the upcoming internal selection process and the general election.
