Ningo-Prampram MP Urges President Akufo-Addo to Reconsider Sending Soldiers to Niger -

He cited Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, which prohibits illegal actions and questioned whether there is a UN Security Council resolution authorizing an intervention. He called for a more pragmatic approach to engaging in the crisis and criticized the aggressive stance taken by some ECOWAS leaders to appease Western powers. Sam George emphasized that any decision to involve the Ghana Armed Forces in a needless war would require the approval of Parliament. ECOWAS leaders recently decided to activate a standby force for potential intervention in Niger after a military junta takeover.
