Former President John Dramani Mahama has given a hand of welcome to US Vice President Kamala Harris in Ghana.
Kamala Harris is on a three-day official state visit to the West African country, followed by trips to Tanzania and Zambia later this week.
On Sunday, March 26, she landed at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
Mr Mahama said in a tweet welcoming the US VP that the visit, which follows earlier ones by US Presidents, “re-affirms the durable friendship between Ghana and USA.”
“It demonstrates the United States’ growing interest in Africa.”
Between 2009 and 2012, Ghana’s Vice President expressed hope that the visit would improve collaboration between the United States and Africa.”to provide critical support for economic cooperation, youth development, and employment, as well as enhanced security for global safety.”
